About Cheryl Hurt

Valley Clean Air Now (VCAN)

I was born and raised in Clairton. I remember when we had the black soot you can see. I know realize that PM2.5 you can’t see if more dangerous than anything I’ve seen growing up. I got involved because I love and care about the community and the Mon Valley. If we as individuals don’t stand up for something, our lives will fail – the illnesses and death caused by the particles and the pollution. I have generations of relatives, grandchildren and want to see them to have a life and live. I want my grandchildren (the fifth generation) to live in this community if this is what they chose.
