Beaver County Marcellus Awareness Community (BCMAC) works to protect the public health of citizens against the buildout of the petrochemical industry and Marcellus Shale development.

Group meets the last Monday of the month and offers educational programming and is striving to develop a new energy economy based on renewable energy sources.


Shell Falcon Pipeline: Protect the Ambridge Reservoir & Communities

The residents of Beaver County and Allegheny County (BCMAC and CPAR) have aligned with Fractracker Alliance to educate residents on the explosive risks posed by the proximity of the Shell Falcon Pipeline to a major source of drinking water for 35,000 residents as well as residential homes and recreational and wildlife areas.The DEP has issued three letters to Shell Pipeline on 101 deficiencies including concerns about the location of the pipeline near the reservoir as well as to marshland and conservation areas. CAC's Southwest Pennsylvania Neighbors for Clean Air

The goal of the Southwest PA Neighbors for Clean Air initiative is to create 100 neighborhood groups of 10 members throughout the region so that residents can learn about and take action on the most pressing environmental issues in Southwest Pennsylvania. In the nine months since the first leader training session, CAC has trained over 80 group leaders, and 20 groups now meet regularly.
