On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11am, we’ll gather for a press event on the steps of the Capitol rotunda to hear the voices of young Pennsylvanians who’ve been seeking protections from fracking from our state government, including the Governor, for years.
Afterwards, we’ll attend meetings with state legislators, PA DEP, and the Governor’s office.
Those gathered will be reminding Governor Shapiro of his promises to improve accountability of the shale gas industry as outlined in the 2020 43rd Grand Jury report which highlighted eight recommendations, including expanding no-drill zones in Pennsylvania from the current 500 feet to 2,500 feet.
We will also be educating lawmakers and PA DEP on the Protective Buffers PA rulemaking petition, which is currently being assessed by DEP and would significantly expand shale gas drilling setbacks.
