Join us for our Community Gathering! These virtual gatherings serve as a place for our members (and our wider network) to connect with each other, learn about the state of the environment here in Pennsylvania, receive updates on our work, and meet in regional cohorts.
For our August and November community gatherings, we will be hosting discussions on the themes of Valarie Kaur’s book See No Stranger: A Memoir and Manifesto of Revolutionary Love. Valarie will be joining our Annual Convening in October for an opening fireside discussion about the role of revolutionary love in our movement for environmental justice! Valarie Kaur is a renowned civil rights leader, lawyer, award-winning filmmaker, educator, and innovator. She is also the founder of the Revolutionary Love Project, where she leads a movement to reclaim love as a force for justice.
Valarie Kaur is building a movement to reclaim love as a force for justice, healing, and transformation in America. She believes the love ethic is essential to birthing a multi-racial democracy and sustainable future. She declares, “Revolutionary Love is the call of our times — the choice to leave no one outside our circle of care.”
Reading the book is invited, but not required. You do not need to read See No Stranger to participate in the discussion, as we will be guiding conversation based on themes, quotes, and stories from the book. If you would like to read the book for yourself, you can purchase it here. We will be discussing the book and its themes at both our August and November community gatherings. These will be guided differently so we hope you will join us for both, but you don’t need to worry if you can only attend one or the other. All we ask is that you come ready for an exciting discussion about revolutionary love!
