Mon Valley Clean Air Fund Community Listening Session
The Jefferson Regional Foundation, established as the result of an affiliation agreement between Jefferson Hospital and Allegheny Health Network, has a mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities served by Jefferson Hospital through grantmaking, community engagement, and community driven research.
In 2024 the Allegheny County Health Department enlisted the support of the Jefferson Regional Foundation to distribute settlement funds in the Mon Valley from an industrial incident that negatively impacted the air quality of 22 communities. The funds were named the Mon Valley Clean Air Fund and total $2.25 million, which will be distributed over the course of five years. Grant proposals will be accepted by Jefferson Regional Foundation starting in January 2025.
