Our Quaker Valley communities are just ten miles downwind of the Royal Dutch Shell’s proposed ethane cracker plant in Beaver County. The 300 acre plant will be one of the largest cracker plants in North America. And Shell is also proposing to lay pipelines carrying ethane to the plant in close proximity to the Ambridge Reservoir which supplies drinking water to several Quaker Valley municipalities. It is important that we all are informed about the facts and the potential impacts on our residents.
The program is being hosted by SHAPE (Support Humanity And Protect the Environment) & 10 Actions Sewickley, a volunteer group based in Sewickley, along with Communities First, a community group whose mission is to raise awareness about the gas industry activities in Southwestern PA including the Royal Dutch Shell Ethane Cracker Plant.
We feel that we are at a turning point in this region, and it is important that we are well informed. As a leader in out community, we hope that you will join us in learning more about this significant change in our community.
