RSVP to join us for a three-part collaborative webinar series on fracking, zoning, and public health in your community!
Local land use rules are an essential authority of local government and have been underscored, multiple times, by the PA Supreme Court. And yet, there remain some local communities that have woefully outdated – or even some without any – oil and gas ordinances. Using lessons learned and fact-based research, local citizen teams can educate themselves on how to effectively engage with local government officials.
Facts and community organizing are the great levelers – learn how to use the facts to ensure local decision makers carry out their responsibilities according to the law. The three-part series features the following speakers:
Thursday, September 24 @ 7:00 pm – Featuring Lisa Graves Marcucci, PA Coordinator, Community Outreach, Environmental Integrity Project; Robin Martin, Allegheny County Organizer, Food & Water Watch and Food & Water Action; and Vanessa Lynch, Pennsylvania Field Organizer, Moms Clean Air Force. These panelists from local advocacy groups help community members understand local government engagement, how to ensure local land use rules are understood and implemented effectively, and how to organize as a community in order to become part of the decision-making process.
